Bloggers Get Access, Connections at Dem Convention in Denver
The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) is going to credential a record number of blogs this election cycle. In 2004, 30 bloggers got credentials to cover the Boston convention, which was the first to officially be open to bloggers. At the 2008 Denver Convention, there will be more than 120 blogs and more individual bloggers issued credentials so that they can blog with credentials issued by the U.S. Congressional Press Galleries.
There will be a lounge for bloggers insdie the convention center with TVs, tech and workspace. The bloggers will have floor access and access to press briefing areas, caucus meetings, filing centers and other areas open to the members of the media.
The list of credentialed blogs is at http://demconvention.com/credentialed-blogs/
Check out the DNCC site, too, it is a far cry from the sites politicios slapped up in years past. Links for Green Delegates, very open to the public and bloggers for that matter, who want to link to original sources.
