I had to face curmudgeons when I started working in a Journalism department. It is a sad small-mindedness that is shocking, at least at first, to detect in people whose job it is ostensibly to be open-minded and find out facts and what is going on, without letting their own feelings cloud what they write/blog/post, etc. The news biz will be better when these people take early retirement or quit in disgust.»
