I am a White Sox fan. My husband has worked on me since the 1970s to move me from no interest in baseball, to urging him to buy the expensive season ticket package. We were there when the Sox won the World Series. Our particular seats are behind the “screen” and somewhat protected from wicked fouls or pieces of bats. Last year, we saw too many broken bats. Every at bat, there would be two or three players who were out or got blooper singles instead of legitimate hits because their bats would shatter into pieces. A couple of times, the pieces flew into the stands, and folks were injured. I did not do a statistical analysis, but I am glad to see that the League did, and that new bat standards are in place.
