You think Darwin, I think of my Ma

20 years ago, scientists hiking on an island known as Isabela spotted an iguana that was pink.

What they didn’t know was whether this pink lizard was a genetic mutation or a whole new species.

You probably find this item mildly interesting or irritating if you were thinking it was about media and technology. My mother took me to the Galapagos with her when I was in my 40s instead of leaving me a bundle when she passed away. We had the most wonderful time, and we did see this species of iguana but didn’t know if was a separate species. Now that Ma is gone, the iguana isn’t only a new species, but a reminder of how cool my Ma really was…
