MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Google, a company that wants us to live on the Web, pushed that agenda further Thursday as it unveiled details of its Chrome computer operating system and plans to have the OS in a new kind of ultra-cheap portable computer in time for Christmas 2010.
